    This position will work on-site and oversee field operations to ensure that work is performed on schedule, within budget, and to the quality of workmanship expected. As a hands-on crew leader, you will be responsible for the onsite performance, organization, and management of manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material at the assigned project.

    Ideal candidate is organized, self-directed, problem solving, works well with different personalities, has great communication skills, and significant experience with the construction of commercial buildings from site work, foundations & framing, through rough-in and MEP, to exterior and interior finishes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage NAI projects onsite in accordance with project manager directives.
    • Manages and coordinates labor, materials, and installation of all sub-contracted trades.
    • Closely manage all activities on site and evaluate the need for additional manpower and/or resources to maintain the schedule.
    • Assigns tasks to workers, ensuring that they have been provided with the knowledge and tools required to completely complete the job.
    • Notify and meet with jurisdictional authorities prior to and during construction.
    • Manage the erection of all building systems.
    • Building layout and foundation installation from established hubs.
    • Understanding of local and international building codes and regulations including ADA.
    • Establishes and adjusts work methods to meet and maintain schedules.
    • Sets-up and adjusts machines and equipment.
    • Accurately completes administrative records including timesheets, work reports, safety inspections, and all other documentation deemed necessary by management.
    • Understands and interprets construction drawings for completeness and makes recommendations for changes when necessary.
    • Ensures that all company policies are implemented consistently and fully onsite.
    • Estimates sizes, quantities, time, cost, or materials as needed to inform General Superintendent and/or Project Manager of additional needs.
    • Acts as a mentor, teaching, training and answering questions for crew members.
    • Schedules required inspections with agencies, as required.
    • Maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project, including the public.
    • Ability to perform Carpenter duties.
    • Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company.
    • Continually looks for ways to improve processes and serve customers effectively.
    • Serve as the onsite Safety Supervisor and ensure all safety policies are being followed.

    Required Experience/Skills:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction
    • General knowledge of basic engineering and of the building construction industry to include the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit; performance contracting, integrated design, and facility management
    • Blueprint reading, covering all facets of design including civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, alarms, shop drawings, etc.
    • Financial budgeting, planning, administration, conflict resolution, and negotiation experience.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

    Work Location: In person.  Most projects within a 30 mile radius of Newark, DE
