    Event Description:
National Drug Take Back Day is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at which time Cecil County residents can turn in unused or expired medications — no questions asked — for safe disposal at several locations.

An initiative of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Liquids, needles and sharps are not accepted. Medicine that sits unused in home cabinets is susceptible to misuse, abuse and other serious health risks. At home methods for disposal of unused medicines — flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash — pose potential safety and health hazards. Cecil County residents can also dispose of medicine anytime during the year at several medicine drop boxes, with no questions asked.  Drop box locations are listed at www.rewriteyourscript.org, under the tab “RX Drop Boxes.”
