Business Seminar: How the US Department of Labor Regulations Will Affect You

Take note of these two significant changes!
“Calculating Employee Overtime” & “Maryland Earned Sick Leave Policy Required for All Employees” (Pending)
How will these two major changes impact YOUR business?

    Presenter: Christine Walters, FiveL Company
    Independent Consultant & Author
"Helping Leaders Limit their Liability by Learning the Law"

    Additional Details:
First, the US Department of Labor has issued new regulations that will significantly change those employees who qualify for overtime for hours worked beyond forty each week.  (Click here for article from US Chamber).

Second, it is expected that the Maryland General Assembly will pass legislation in the upcoming 2017 Session which will require the vast majority of businesses to provide sick leave to all employees who work at least thirty hours a week.

Even if you have a sick leave policy now, it may not meet the new law requirements, which means you may have to change it.  If you currently do not have an earned sick leave policy for your employees, you will need to add one.

On September 23, 2016, The Cecil County Chamber’s Government Relations Committee will host a business seminar that you should not miss.  Our presenter will be Christine Walters of FiveL Company.  Ms. Walters will cover both of these labor force changes, and provide you with the necessary processes to determine how the overtime and sick leave law changes will impact you.
