Lisa Saxton Named Cecil County Director of Finance

County Executive Alan McCarthy, with unanimous support from all five council members, announced that Lisa Saxton has been appointed to the position of Director of Finance for Cecil County Government.

Ms. Saxton began her career with the County in October 2000 as an accountant. Since that time she has held the positions of senior accountant and accounting manager. Ms. Saxton, was appointed as Deputy Director of Finance in July 2014 and was named Acting Director of Finance in January 2018 upon the retirement of former director Winston Robinson.

Prior to her work with the County, Ms. Saxton’s professional background encompasses experience in various accounting and management positions in the private sector. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from Wilmington University.

“I am looking forward to continuing to be a part of the great team we have built in our finance department and anticipate a very smooth transition with the new position," commented Saxton. "It's business as usual for us."

Director of Administration Al Wein stated, "The administration feels very confident in Lisa's abilities to lead the finance department and we are pleased to have her in this role."
